Black as a perfect skin

Hello everyone! Today's topic is about "trends" in today's society.
How many of us follow trends? How many of us are influenced by these "trends"?
Most of the time, we follow trends because it's easy to follow than lead. Also because it's considered cool or nice!
Some trends are nice, depending on the reason behind it. For example: The "ice bucket challenge" which is geared to help to save lives. However, others just decided to do it simply because celebrities and their friends were doing it, without actually finding out what it was really about. That's when following trends with no reason becomes bad.

According to a dictionary's definition,
"A trend is what's hip or popular at a certain point in time. While a trend usually refers to a certain style in fashion or entertainment".

According to my dictionary, this is what trend means. In my opinion, it's an excuse to not be creative. The following are a list of popular trends and notions we succumb to without questioning them:

* Men are all the same.
* Slim is beautiful
* Why get married when you can date forever
* If you don't dress sex than you are not cool
* Twerking/ let's all be Miley Cyrus
* Smoking weed is totally normal, after all Rihanna does it too
* Sending nude pictures
* Yolo (You Only Live Once): so go wild and crazy
* Who am I to be successful
* I am a bad b****
* Sex is totally normal

There are so many trends we follow that we don't realise how it has a negative influence on our lives. It makes us fail to see who we really are. Girls, you want your boyfriend to treat you as a prince but you call yourself bad b***, really? You say men are all the same that's why you accept them to cheat on you and you believe that you can't find a better man. You want to lose weight because it is said that being skinny is what's beautiful, and etc.

I say, start by having a relationship with yourself. Know who you are. Define what is beautiful not because others say it is but because you know it's beautiful. Be the one that leads and set an example.
I am not asking you to be perfect but to BE A BETTER YOU!

Black with a colour on Top

Today I want to talk about karate.

Imagine yourself in a karate class. The rule is simple, attack or defend. You will have to punch, kick etc. If you don't fight, your opponent will end up defeating you. If you only defend, your opponent will continue to attack, punch, kick and so on.

There are only two ways; you either learn to fight or you get attacked. As you keep fighting, it is only natural that you will get better at punching, and other things you do when you learn karate.

The black side of this story is this; you are in a karate class. Feelings, thoughts, decisions, choices and emotions are running through your mind. All the negative thoughts you have is your opponent. When you say to yourself such as, ‘I can't do this’, ‘I am not good enough’, ‘I will not make it’, ‘I’m always like this’, ‘I’m trying but... etc., you are allowing yourself to get punched in the face, or in any other part of your body. Everytime you fear to take an action, you allow that little thought of ‘I’m not good enough’, to take control and beat you down. Remember, your opponent will not stop until you are knocked down or completely weakened to the point that you can’t do anything. Your opponent will remind you of why you are not where you want to be, only because you have been KO'd.

We all have fears, reasons, insecurities, and guess what? It's okay to feel that way, as long as you don't allow it to overcome you. Everytime you allow the fears, doubts and negative thoughts to stop you from making a decision, achieving your dream or taking actions, you are already taking a step back from your dream.

What is it that you think that you can't do? What has been so black in your life? I say, put colour on it; face your fears, take chances, make a choice and do something.

An old friend of mine once said, “everyone seems to know the price of everything but the value of nothing. When you know the value of what you want and how important it is for you, you will do whatever it takes to get it.”

Remember you are in a karate class, if you only defend you will eventually get beaten and get hurt. However, when you attack you give and you get.🎀🎀🎀😜
